01 > Prepare the articulating arm pieces. Use the utility knife to cut the following from four paint stirrers:

Seven 6" (15 cm) pieces

Two 3" (7.5 cm) pieces

The holes for pieces 2, 4, 5, and 6 are drilled about 1/2" (1.3 cm) from the ends.

The number 6 pieces have an additional hole drilled 1/2" (1.3 cm) from the first at one end.

Pieces 1, 3, and 5 have a hole drilled in the center.

NOTE: As you prepare the pieces, lightly number them with a pencil.

02 > Prepare the pieces for the claw.

Use the utility knife to cut the following from the remaining two paint stirrers:

One 8" (20.5 cm) piece

One 4" (10 cm) piece

Two 3" (7.5 cm) pieces

Two 2" (5 cm) pieces

One 1.5" (4 cm) piece

03 > Split the 1.5" (4 cm) piece, two 3" (7.5 cm) pieces, and the 4" (10 cm) piece in half lengthwise. Pieces 8, 11, and 12 have holes drilled 1/4" (6 mm) from the ends. The number 9 pieces have a hole drilled 1/4" (6 mm) from one end and a hole drilled in the center.
